Today I got a tattoo

Today I got a tattoo from an artist named Colin Dale, who specializes in stick & poke tattoos (traditional way of tattooing). It was an incredible experience. The symbols I got are viking runes - each one with its own unique meaning. The top rune is "laguz" which refers to the flow of water. Since all humans need water to survive, it symbolizes the essence of life. The middle rune, called "Inguz" is my favorite, and has several meanings according to what I found. It directly translates to "seed" and can refer to internal growth. Others have interpreted this meaning as "where there is a will, there is way." I like both meanigns. The last is called "perthro." This runes meaning is actually unknown, so it tends to be interpretated as leaving things up to chance or taking risks. The stick & poke method was so much less painful than my first tattoo, and so much more precise. I love it so much!

After getting my tattoo, we stopped at The Donut Shop, run by a fellow New Yorker who moved to Denmark when he was a kid. Really cool guy - His nutella-hazelnut donut was AMAZING.

On the way home, my friend and I walked through the Hans Tavsens Park, which is also a cemetary. So beautiful. It's amazing how Copenhagen can make such a sad place like a cemetary so welcoming & open.

My friends and I ended the day with a boat tour in Nyhavn.

I can't believe I only have 2 days left here.

I can't wait to come back.
